Poised to Meet Generation Y in Delaware

We are about to embark on a whole new community of home shoppers, the new generation of homeowners; Generation Y. As approximately 74,000,000 people born between 1980 and 1995 begin to enter their prime of home ownership, as a REALTOR, I am prepared to meet the challenge and meet their demands. As the Baby Boomers, like myself, and Gen X'ers settle into their homes and lifestyles, this new wave of market savvy buyers will create a whole new set of directions for each of us.

This new wave of buyers are all too familiar with all the modern tools of communication that Baby Boomers and many Gen-X buyers did not have access to, or are too hesitant to delve into. They are almost all familiar with the internet, cell phones, Blackberry's, social media weblogging, texting, e.mailing, and every other Twitterable method of mass communication. This is a group of intelligent, independent, oft times live-in-the-moment, instant gratification young adults and they will be hitting the market like a Tsunami in search of a landing spot. Are you ready to batten down the hatches and ride the wave of the next generation? I am.

Many Gen-Y college grads will have unsurpassed debts in comparision to their predecessors, but they are not dissmayed to discouraged by the current economy. They are filled with bright outlooks and expectations for their future and they demand all that the world can give them. When they ask questions, they demand answers and they want those answers now. Many of them are financial savvy and have a decent grasp on the economy and are chomping at the bit to be involved in shaping our way of life. Todays high school and college students will be tomorrow's investors. Are you ready? I am.

With the busy lifestyle young people tend to lead, they will seek close to home services, and those homes will need to be close to where they work, go to school, worship, commute, excercise, play, and raise families in whatever form that may take. They will want a fast paced home to keep up with their fast paced life and they will demand no less. They will want smart financing, quick paced REALTORS, affordable homes, and all the bells and whistles their money can buy. They will be tech tough and they will want their REALTOR to be the same. Are you? I am.

The next time you drive through your neighborhood and see a group of kids waiting for the bus, which comes to mind? There's trouble, OR, there's my next client? The art of the deal comes with forward thinking, even if you have to wait a couple of years. Generation Z should be a blast!
