Solar Energy Park in Dover Delaware!

Holy Cow Batman! Delaware is breaking the bank with alternate energy resources. First the wind turbine in Lewes Delaware on the UD campus with a planned turbine farm in Rehoboth Beach in 2012 and now... ta da- Dover signed purchase agreements to pave the way for construction to begin on one of the mid-Atlantic region's largest solar energy power plants. Construction on the 10-megawatt Dover SUN Park will begin later this year on 103 acres owned by the city of Dover off White Oak Road.  Dover officials said today that the city has signed a 20-year agreement to purchase all of the energy produced at the facility, which will supply more than two percent of the city's current energy requirements, or enough to power about 1,300 homes.  Delmarva Power and a group of nine municipally owned utilities have signed agreements with the park's owner, White Oak Solar Energy LLC, for the purchase of renewable energy credits.
